Fun and Easy Ways to Decorate Your Spring Daycare Bulletin Board-Plus a Free Printable

The days are getting longer, the weather is warming up, and flowers are starting to bloom—spring is finally here! That means it’s the perfect time to refresh your daycare space with new decorations.

One of the easiest ways to bring seasonal charm into your daycare is by updating your bulletin board with a fun spring theme. In this post, I’ll share how I decorate mine, plus a free printable to help you create your own!

My Simple Approach to Spring Daycare Bulletin Board Displays

When I first started my childcare, my home was completely overrun with supplies. Everywhere I looked, it felt more like a daycare center than a cozy home. When I moved, I made a promise to myself: twice the house, half the daycare clutter.

So far, I’ve stuck to that goal—but one thing I wasn’t willing to give up was my bulletin board display. It’s always been a simple but special part of my space. Positioned right by my childcare entrance, it’s the first thing parents and kids see when they walk in, making it the perfect spot for a seasonal refresh.

I love switching up my bulletin board decorations for each season or holiday. It’s an easy way to add a pop of color and fun without overwhelming my space.

For spring, I usually go for light and bright pastel colors, but this year, I decided to try something a little different—a mid-century modern color palette—and I absolutely love how it turned out!

Why Have a Seasonal Bulletin Board in Your Daycare?

A seasonal bulletin board not only makes your childcare space feel fresh and inviting, but it also:
✅ Adds color and personality to your entryway or play area.
✅ Helps children get excited about the changing seasons.
✅ Creates a welcoming atmosphere for parents and visitors.
✅ Can be used for learning activities, showcasing children’s artwork, or displaying seasonal themes.

How to Set Up a Spring Bulletin Board on a Budget

Setting up a seasonal bulletin board is easier than you think! You don’t need a huge space or a big budget to create a fun and festive display.

Back in October, while preparing my Halloween bulletin board, I found an inexpensive kit at Walmart for just $5. It came with a large, thick orange background paper and themed cutouts. Since my display space is on the side of a cabinet near my daycare door, this large sheet worked perfectly—and surprisingly, I’ve been able to reuse it for every season since!

If you’re looking for an easy way to start, try these budget-friendly options:
✅ Poster boards in seasonal colors from Walmart or Dollar Tree
✅ Wrapping paper or fabric for a reusable background
✅ Construction paper or printable cutouts to add fun details

And remember, you don’t always need a background! Some spaces, like a whiteboard or cabinet door, work just fine as they are.

Choosing what to put on your bulletin board is the best part! There are endless ways to make it fun, engaging, and seasonal.

Over the years, I’ve tried all sorts of creative ideas—like turning the entire space into a giant snowman in winter or making Cat in the Hat cutouts with my daycare kids’ faces inside. The best part? They got to take them home as a keepsake after the holiday!

Here are some simple ways to decorate your spring bulletin board:

Use Pre-Made Cutouts – Websites like Oriental Trading have tons of affordable bulletin board decorations.

Repurpose Holiday Supplies – Dig through your seasonal decor bins to find items you can reuse.

DIY with Construction Paper – Simple shapes go a long way!

  • Hearts can be turned into shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day.

How to Use This Free Printable for Your Spring Bulletin Board

Ready to bring your spring bulletin board to life? Follow these simple steps to print, cut, and laminate your pieces for a long-lasting display!

Step 1: Print Your Free Printable

First, download and print the file. Decide whether to print it at home or take it to a local print shop for higher quality.

Step 2: Cut Out the Pieces

Once your file is printed, turn on your favorite show and start cutting! Most pieces are simple to cut, but the tiny curls on butterflies and flowers can be tricky. Grab a pair of detail scissors and take your time for the best results.

Step 3: Laminate for Durability

After all that cutting, you’ll want to laminate your pieces so they last season after season. Laminating requires one more round of cutting, but it’s worth it!

Laminating Tips:

✅ Leave a small border around each piece when cutting after laminating—this helps keep them sealed.
✅ Place pieces carefully inside the laminating sheet to prevent shifting before running them through your machine.
✅ Maximize your laminating sheets! If you have other items that need laminating, add them to the sheet to avoid waste.

With your pieces laminated and cut out, you’re ready to decorate your bulletin board and enjoy a bright, cheerful spring display!

My Favorite Products

If you want to know what I use to get my bulletin board, busy books, reusable worksheets etc ready, below I have those items linked. I have found purchasing from Amazon is much cheaper than from Walmart if you can wait the couple days for shipping.

This has been one of the best purchases I have made for my daycare and I cannot believe in the 15+ years I’ve been in business, I have never had one of these.

This is the exact laminator I have and it works amazing. I have tried out both the packs of laminating sheets below and if you’re a brand person, the Scotch laminating sheets are great. If you don’t mind other products, in this case the Amazon Basics brand, for basically the same price you can get 200 sheets and, in my opinion, the quality is very comparable.
